Bryant Campbell nacque il 2 gennaio del 1877 probabilmente a Saint Louis dove pasṣ la sua vita assieme alla moglie Irene Johnson Gibson operando nel campo del commercio dei tessuti assieme al fratello minore.
Grande appassionato di giochi di carte, nel bridge propose l'immarcescibile conteggio delle carte onori, quel 4-3-2-1 che resiste ancor oggi, importandolo dal Pitch un gioco molto in voga ad inizio '900.
Fu, uno dei primi teorici del gioco e introdusse alcuni principi per il suo tempo altamente innovativi quale quello del contro informativo che illustṛ in alcuni libri che diede alle stampe nel primo ventennio dello scorso secolo.
Scomparve dopo una breve malattia il 6 maggio del 1927.

Johnson Gibson working in the field of the textile trade with his younger
brother.
A great lover of card games, in bridge he proposed the invaluable counting of honors cards, that 4-3-2-1 that still resists today, importing it from Pitch, a very popular game at the beginning of the 1900s.
He was, one of the first theorists of the game and introduced some principles for his time highly innovative such as that of the informative counter that he illustrated in some books that he published in the first twenty years of the last century.
He disappeared after a brief illness on May 6, 1927.
