Victor Champion (1908 - 1974) was one of the greatest Victorian and Australian bridge player in the years between 1930 and 1950 and is remembered by Victor Champion Cup established in 1953.
Her parents had just emigrated from England when Victor was born in Windsor in a Melbourne's suburb.
Since 1927 he moved to London for five years where he practiced a professional bridge at the Knightsbridge Bridge Club.
Back in Australia, well before the birth of American Aces, Victor subjected the members of his team to intense workouts that yielded seven national titles.
Unmarried, he caught his greatest satisfaction when he participated at the 1960 Olympic Games defending Australian colors.
Victor was also famous for the articles he wrote for various Australian publications that mostly were a huge success.
