Le personalità del bridge

Mary Jane Chilcote è nata nel 1926 a Laurel nel Maryland, figlia di un giudice federale e di una superstite della tragedia del Titanic, si diplomò nel 1944 alla Laurel School e si laureò 4 anni più tardi alla Smith College di Northampton.

Molto sportiva, Mary in gioventù praticò l'hockey su prato per diversi anni ed il tennis per l'intera vita.

Sposata con tre figli divenne la giocatrice di bridge più famosa di Cleveland, dove si era trasferita, ed una delle più in vista dell'intero Ohio tanto da entrar a afar parte della nazionale femminile USA alle Olimpiadi del 1974.

Very sporty, Mary in her youth practiced field hockey for several years and tennis for her entire life.

Married with three children, she became the most famous bridge player in Cleveland, where she had moved, and one of the most prominent in the whole of Ohio, so much so that she joined the US women's national team at the 1974 Olympics.

Mary passed away on December 18, 2017.
