Roger Damelé was born on 11 April 1933 in Antibes and has devoted much of his life to the development of bridge.
In his youth he formed a strong pair with the post woman Lulù Vergamini, carving out a good reputation in the local bridge.
In the 1980s, Roger became the director of the Juan-les-Pins International Bridge Festival, which under his illumination rose to the role of European bridge Mecca.
Received in 1985 a room on loan from the municipality, Roger created a school and a club that over time became one of the busiest in Europe.
Today, given the worldwide decline of bridge, Damelè, in agreement with the Ministry of Education, has managed to introduce bridge in the schools of the Maritime Alps.
