René Ducheyne è nato nel 1926 a l'Aia dove è sempre vissuto assieme alla moglie Elly Ducheyne-Swaan che nacque nel 1938 e che parlava correntemente olandese, tedesco, francese e inglese.
Impiegato in un Ufficio Brevetti ha curato a titolo amatoriale per oltre 15 anni a partire dal 1974 i rapporti con la stampa nelle principali manifestazioni europee e mondiali guadagnandosi rispetto e benevolenza grazie anche al fondamentale contributo della moglie.
René, che è stato Presidente dell'IBPA, giocava spesso in coppia con la moglie nelle competizioni miste.
René è scomparso prematuramente il 1 luglio del 1991 ed Elly ha preso il suo posto come Supervisore della Sala Stampa fino alla fine del 2003, quando ritiratasi, fu premiata con una targa ricordo dalla World Bridge Federation.
Elly Ducheyne nata nel 1938, era conosciuta da tutto il mondo del bridge come "la regina della sala stampa", attiva sia nella federazione olandese che in quelle europea e mondiale, fu la prima persona al mondo a ricevere un abbonamento onorario a vita a "Bridge Magazine".
Elly scomparve all'Aia il 15 ottobre del 2019.

German, French and English.

Elly Ducheyne born in 1938, was known throughout the bridge world as "the queen of the press room", active both in the Dutch federation and in the European and World federations, she was the first person in the world to receive an honorary lifetime subscription to " Bridge Magazine ".
Elly disappeared in The Hague on 15 October 2019.
