Kim Cooke Ellaway è nata il 1 febbraio del 1961 a Mount Isa nell'interno del Queensland del nord ed ha imparato il bridge fin da piccola sebbene il papà le permettesse di giocare solo durante le vacanze scolastiche.
Più tardi ricoprì la posizione di segretaria e tesoreria del Club locale e giocò spesso con la mamma Marion Cooke grande appassionata e buona bridgista.
Successivamente si spostò a Brisbane dove vive tuttora e nel 1989 si sposò con un altro buon bridgista Ray Ellaway a cui diede due figli: Michael e Alex.
Nel 1995 fu nominata responsabile della QBA (Queensland Bridge Association) posizione che ricopre tuttora.
Buona bridgista ha vinto diversi titoli federali giocando in coppia sia con la mamma che con il marito e per i suoi meriti amministrativi nel 2019 la QBA l'ha premiata cono il Life Membership.
Kim Cooke Ellaway was born on 1 February 1961 in Mount Isa in the interior of
North Queensland and learned bridge from an early age although her father only
allowed her to play during school holidays.
She later held the position of secretary and treasurer of the local Club and often played with her mother Marion Cooke, a great enthusiast and good bridge player.
She later moved to Brisbane where she still lives and in 1989 she married another good bridge player Ray Ellaway with whom she gave two children; Michael and Alex.
In 1995 she was appointed manager of the QBA (Queensland Bridge Association) a position she still holds.
A good bridge player, she has won several federal titles playing in pairs with both her mother and her husband and for her administrative merits in 2019 the QBA awarded her with Life Membership.
