Farokh Maneksha Engineer è nato a Bombay il 25 febbraio del 1938 ed è stato un campione di  cricket che ha giocato in India ed Inghilterra per le squadre di Mumbai e Lancashire e  per la nazionale indiana.

 Farokh che è di origine Parsi ha studiato al Pador College di Matunga e dopo la sua carriera sportiva terminata nel 1975, ha fatto con successo anche il commentatore. Oggi vive a Manchester in Inghilterra.

 Durante un infortunio al ginocchio che lo bloccò per lungo tempo, Farokh fu accompagnato da un amico al Manchester Bridge Club e lì, come aveva già fatto con il cricket, imparò a giocare da autodidatta.

 Ancora oggi gioca regolarmente due o tre volte la settimana ed è solito dire che al bridge come al cricket, non si finisce mai di imparare.

  Farokh Maneshka Engineer is a former Indian cricketer of Parsi origin. He was born on 25th February 1938 in Mumbai where he completed his education from Podar College, Matunga.

 Farokh’s career in international cricket began in the year 1961 and continued till 1975, where he played as a wicket-keeper in most of the matches.

 He was also recognized as a highly aggressive batsman with unique style and versatility.

 During a knee injury that stopped him for a long time, Farokh was accompanied by a friend at Manchester Bridge Club and there, as he had done with cricket, he learned to play by himself.

 Today he plays regularly two or three times a week and it is usually said that the bridge like cricket, you never stop learning.
