Maurice Esterson was born in London in 1929 and was a British professional player who, among other national successes, won the Gold Cup in 1972 and 1974, Crockfords in 1971 and 1977 and the Lederer in 1969.
Married with a son and divorced, he played in Camrose defending three nations and winning the trophy for Northern Ireland in 1968 and for Wales in 1970.
Maurice, who represented the British team three times, passed away in 2018.
