György  FERENCZY

 

 György Ferenczy nacque a Budapest l'8 ottobre del 1902 e morì nella stessa città il 28 luglio del 1983 dopo essere stato un apprezzato pianista ed un campione di bridge.

 György studiò al Conservatorio Nazionale Lettone  e si perfezionò alla Scuola Erno Dohnanyi ed insegnò presso l'Accademia di Musica Ferenc Listz dal 1947 fino al 1958. Fu anche a capo di un orchestra di Salisburgo e membro di molte giurie internazionali.

 Concertista di successo nelle maggiori città europee, in suo onore è stata creata la Fondazione che porta il suo nome.

 György fu anche un appassionato bridgista ed una delle colonne della formidabile squadra magiara che dominò negli anni '30 dello scorso secolo, vincendo i Campionati Europei del 1938 e guadagnando la medaglia d'argento in quelli del 1935 e del 1936. Nell'edizione del 1937 che ebbe anche valore di Campionato Mondiale arrivò al bronzo.

 Scomparve a Budapest il 28 luglio del 1983.

   György Ferenczy was born in Budapest on  October 8, 1902 and died in the same city on July 28, 1983 after being a popular pianist and a bridge champion.

György studied at the National Conservatory Latvian and was perfected at the School Erno Dohnanyi and taught at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music from 1947 until 1958.

He was also the head of an orchestra of Salzburg and a member of many international juries.

He was success concert performer  in major European cities and in his honor was created the Foundation that bears his name.

György was also an avid bridge player and one of the pillars of Hungarian formidable Team that dominated in the 30s of last century, winning the European Championships of 1938 and gaining the silver medal in 1935 and 1936. In the edition of 1937, that had value of World Championships, he earning a bronze medal.

He disappear July 28, 1983 in Budapest.
