Nato il 25 maggio del 1947 a Coimbatore nella regione Tamil Nadu dell'India del Sud, Prabhakar Ramachandra Gupta è un accademico, un amministratore ed un noto consulente di alto livello.

 Gupta ha studiato all'Istituto Tecnico della sua città natale ed ha preso poi un master in Ingegneria Meccanica presso l'Università dell'Oklahoma ed un Ph. D. nella stessa materia presso l'Università di Purdue.

 Durante la sua permanenza degli USA è stato un noto ricercatore e al suo rientro in Patria divenne professore emerito presso le Università di Bharathiar e di Madras.

 Sposato con due figli, è oggi Presidente dell'Istituto di Coimbatore e consulente per la Kasbah Software Systems.

 Appassionato di bridge, fu molto attivo come giocatore specie durante il tempo della sua permanenza a Madras. 

È scomparso il 25 maggio del 2013.

  Prabhakar Ramachandra Gupta is born May 25, 1947 in Coimbatore in the Tamil Nadu region of South India, Prabhakar Ramachandra Gupta is an academic, administrator and well-known senior consultant.

Gupta studied at the Technical Institute in his hometown and then earned a master's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Oklahoma and a Ph.D. in the same subject from Purdue University.

During his stay in the USA he was a well-known researcher and on his return to his homeland he became emeritus professor at the Universities of Bharathiar and Madras.

Married with two children, he is now President of the Coimbatore Institute and a consultant for Kasbah Software Systems.

Passionate about bridge, he was very active as a player especially during the time of his stay in Madras.

He passed away on May 25, 2013.
