Barry Clifford Harper č nato il 25 Aprile del 1955 a Wilkie una cittadina del Saskatchewan centrale dove č cresciuto.
Studente molto dotato č stato ammesso giovanissimo all'Universitā dove ha conseguito sia la laurea in Legge che quella in Scienze.
Per un lustro ha praticato legge nella cittā di Kelowna in British Columbia, poi ha smesso per dedicarsi completamente al bridge la grande passione della sua vita. Grand Life Master della ACBL č stato per tre volte premiato come il giocatore canadese dell'anno ed č anche stato Vice Presidente della ACBL.
Giocatore numero 2 della classifica canadese, ha vinto centinaia di Campionati Regionali ed ha riportato alcuni prestigiosi piazzamenti in Campionati Nazionali vincendo anche il Silodor del 1990.
É scomparso prematuramente a causa di un cancro il
14 febbraio del 2014.
Barry was a gifted student, skipping two grades to enter the University of
Saskatchewan at a young age. Barry completed both a Bachelor of Science and a
Bachelor of Law.
He practised law as Defense Attorney in Kelowna, BC., where he resided for five
years before pursuing his passion for Bridge full-time. Barry was an ACBL Grand
Life Master, number 2 on the list of top Canadian Master Point Holders & Vice
Chairman of the ACBL Board of Governors.
Over the last dozen years, Barry won hundreds of Regional Championships, three
Richmond Trophies - awarded to the top Canadian Player of the year, and several
high placings in National events.
Barry Clifford Harper was born April 25, 1955 and left this world February 14, 2014.
