Jan  KAMRAS

 Jan Kamras è nato a Goteborg nel 1950 e, dopo un lungo periodo passato in Svizzera, Giappone e Stati Uniti alo fine si era stabilito da circa un decennio a Tel Aviv in Israele.

 Laureato in economia, ha ricoperto più posizioni manageriali in grandi multinazionali fin quando non è andato in pensione.

 Oltre allo svedese Jan parlava correntemente inglese, tedesco e francese.

 Sulle orme paterne giocò a bridge fin dall'età dell'infanzia ed in alcune occasioni rappresentò sia la nazionale svedese che quella svizzera.

 Campione di Svezia nel 2011, oltre ad alcuni tornei internazionali, ha vinto il Cavendish Teams nel 2013 e, per i colori svedesi, i Maccabiah israeliani del 1991.

 Oltre a far parte del Consiglio della Federazione Svedese fin dal 2007 di cui è stato Vice Presidente, ha ricoperto diversi incarichi in EBL fino a divenirne Presidente nel 2018.

 Sposato e divorziato da Janet, è stato anche capitano non giocatore sia della nazionale Svedese che ha guidato all'argento negli Europei a Squadre del 2004, che di quella Svizzera.

 Nel 2022 divenne Presidente della WBF.

Viveva a Tel Aviv quando, dopo una breve malattia, ci ha lasciato il 17 marzo del 2025.

  Jan Kamras was born in Gothenburg in 1950 and, after a long period spent in Switzerland, Japan and the United States, he finally settled in Tel Aviv, Israel, about a decade ago.

A graduate in economics, he held several managerial positions in large multinationals until he retired.

In addition to Swedish, Jan spoke fluent English, German and French.

Following his father's footsteps, he played bridge since childhood and on some occasions represented both the Swedish and Swiss national teams.

Champion of Sweden in 2011, in addition to some international tournaments, he won the Cavendish Teams in 2013 and, for the Swedish colors, the Israeli Maccabiah of 1991.

In addition to being part of the Board of the Swedish Federation since 2007 of which he was Vice President, he held various positions in EBL until becoming President in 2018.

Married and divorced from Janet, he was also non-playing captain of both the Swedish national team that he led to silver in the European Team Championships in 2004, and that of Switzerland.

In 2022 he became President of the WBF.

He lived in Tel Aviv when, after a short illness, he left us on March 17, 2025.
