David Kendrick è nato a Londra il 21 febbraio del 1949 dove ha completato gli studi superiori prima di trasferirsi a Southampton dove ha imparato il bridge durante il periodo universitario trascorso alla locale Università.
David è stato una figura fondamentale nel mondo del noleggio di attrezzi dove a Ipswich aveva fondato e fatto crescere un'azienda che era arrivata a contare oltre 50 depositi disseminati oltre che in Inghilterra anche nel Galles del Sud.
Nel 1993 vendette l'azienda e si concentrò sulla gestione del suo portafoglio immobiliare e sul bridge.
Giocatore talentuoso ha rappresentato l'Inghilterra a livello Junior, Open e Senior e ha vinto molte delle principali competizioni di bridge del Regno Unito, nonché la prestigiosa Coppa del Presidente svedese nel 2014.
In campo nazionale ha completato una rara tripletta, vincendo il Junior Camrose (nel 1972 e nel 1974), il Camrose (nel 1999) e il Senior Camrose, il Teltscher Trophy (nel 2017).
A livello internazionale, nel 2019, ha vinto la medaglia d'argento nella categoria Senior al 44° Campionato Mondiale di Bridge a Squadre e il bronzo nel European Senior Transnational Teams del 2019.
David, che era dotato di una memoria fuori dell'ordinario, è venuto a mancare il 13 novembre del 2025.
David Kendrick was born in London on February 21, 1949, where he completed his
secondary education before moving to Southampton, where he learned bridge during
his time at the local university.
David was a key figure in the equipment rental industry, having founded and grown a company in Ipswich that had grown to over 50 depots throughout England and South Wales.
In 1993, he sold
the company and focused on managing his real estate portfolio and playing
bridge.
A talented player, he represented England at Junior, Open, and Senior levels and
won many of the UK's major bridge competitions, as well as the prestigious
Swedish President's Cup in 2014.
At home, he completed a rare hat-trick, winning the Junior Camrose (in 1972 and 1974), the Camrose (in 1999), and the Senior Camrose, Teltscher Trophy (in 2017).
At the international level, in 2019, he won the silver medal in the Senior category at the 44th World Bridge Team Championships and the bronze medal at the 2019 European Senior Transnational Teams.
David, who was gifted with an extraordinary memory, passed away on November 13, 2025.
