Nato il 30 gennaio del 1934 in Rhodesia, oggi Zimbabwe, Louis Landau è stato un contabile emigrato in Canada nel 1982 assieme alla moglie Pat.

Giocatore, insegnante e direttore, la sua è stata una figura fondamentale nello sviluppo del bridge nell'area di Vancouver.

Gestore e proprietario per lunghi anni del Vancouver Bridge Club assieme alla moglie Pat Landau, anche lei ottima giocatrice, Louis ha collaborato allo sviluppo di tutti i Bridge Club dell'area.

Scomparve il 12 marzo del 2011 a causa di un attacco di cuore e di un cedimento dei reni.
