Michael Landon

Michael Landon "Emo" nacque il 31 ottobre del 1936 a Forest Hills come Eugene Maurice Orowitz da padre direttore di teatro e madre ballerina e attrice comica e si trasferì con la sua famiglia a Collingswood nel 1941.

Durante il liceo fu un buon atleta e, in particolare, un ottimo giavellottista, ma questa sua prima carriera fu interrotta da un incidente al braccio così che dopo una serie di lavoretti di ogni tipo, si diede il nome d'arte e decise di fare l'attore.

Durante la gioventù ebbe molti hobbies: pesca, karatè, golf, nuoto, dipingere, cucinare, giocare a bridge e sollevamento pesi.

Dal 1957 interpretando il più giovane dei fratelli "Bonanza" in una storica quanto fortunata serie televisiva si procurò una straordinaria notorietà che se possibile aumentò ancora con la successiva serie "La casa nella prateria".

Si sposò tre volte ed ebbe sei figli, ne adottò altri due durante il suo primo matrimonio ed ebbe anche una figliastra.

Indefesso fumatore, morì prematuramente a causa di un cancro al pancreas il 1 luglio del 1991.

Michael Landon "Emo" was born on October 31, 1936 in Forest Hills as Eugene Maurice Orowitz from father theater director and mother dancer and comic actress and moved with his family to Collingswood in 1941.

During high school he was a good athlete and, in particular, an excellent javelin player, but his first career was interrupted by an arm accident so that after a series of jobs of all kinds, he gave himself the stage name and decided to do the actor.

During his youth he had many hobbies: fishing, karate, golf, swimming, painting, cooking, playing bridge and weightlifting.

Since 1957, interpreting the younger of the "Bonanza" brothers in a historic and successful television series, he obtained an extraordinary reputation that, if possible, increased further with the next series "La casa nella prateria".

He married three times and had six children, in add on adopted two others during his first marriage and also had a stepdaughter.

Tireless smoker, died prematurely due to pancreatic cancer on 1 July 1991.
