Peter Littlewood è nato a Sheffield nel 1934 ed è stato un valente giocatore, giornalista e amministratore nel mondo del bridge.
Sesto di 11 figli, in gioventù oltree che un valente bridgista è stato un eccellente giocatore di scacchi ed un buon calciatore.
Sposato con Margaret, hanno avuto 3 figli ed altri 5 li hanno adottati.
Il fratello Frank Littlewood è stato spesso suo compagno al tavolo verde.
Due volte vincitore del Campionato Inglese a Coppie Libere a distanza di 20 anni una dall'altra! (1977 e 1997) era anche Vice Presidente dello Yorkshire CBA.
In alcune occasioni ha anche fatto parte delle nazionali del suo Paese.
E' morto prematuramente il 21 settembre del 2001 a seguito
delle conseguenze di una brutta caduta da una scala a pioli.
