Bill  MELANDER

 Leonard William "Bill" Melander è nato a West Bloomfield nel Minnesota il 13 novembre del 1925.

 Laureato in medicina all'Università del Minnesota, servì nell'esercito durante la seconda guerra mondiale.

 Sposato con Audrey ebbe 4 figli, Erik, Elise, Karen e Rolf.

 Due volte Campione ai NABC è stato il più anziano vincitore di un National Americano ed ha giocato ininterrottamente fino alla settimana precedente la sua scomparsa avvenuta a Canton il 15 maggio del 2016 dopo una lunga battaglia con il cancro.

Leonard William "Bill" Melander was born in West Bloomfield MI 1925, 13 November.

He graduated in medicine from the University of Minnesota Medical School.

He served in the United States Army following WWII.

Loving husband of 56 years to the late Audrey.

Caring father of Erik Melander, Elise Brady, Karen Melander (Kim Wirshing), and Rolf (Jeanne) Melander.

Two-time NABC champion Bill Melander, a Grand Life Master from Farmington Hills MI, he died in Canton MI 2016, 15 May  of complications from lung cancer.

Bill has been the oldest person at the time to have ever captured an NABC title.

He played in a few days before his death.
