Beate Nehmert (Pony is a nickname derived from his haircut) is a Lawyer and has been one of the best players in the world during the years at the turn of the century and now lives in her hometown of Wiesbaden, teaching bridge.
Pony was borned in 1952 and graduated in law in Münster.

She represented Germany in all international competitions in past years and was awarded the title of World Grand Master occupying one of the first 30 places in the special list of the best women players alive.
Her international successes began in 1991 with a double silver medal won at the European Championship in pairs and in teams.
She has twice won the Venice Cup in Beijing in 1995 and 2001 and was placed three times in second place, also won a bronze at the 2002 Winter Olympics and some other medals at the Continental level among which we mention the silver in European Women Pairs of 1991 and 1995, finally, she won the first place IOC Grand Prix in 2000.
In 2025 she won the European Women Transnational Championships.
