Jafet  OLAFSSON

 Jafet Olafsson è nato il 29 aprile del 1951 in Reykjavik, si è laureato presso Commercial College of Iceland nel 1973 ha avuto una brillante carriera manageriale ricoprendo cariche di grande prestigio.

 Tra le altre cariche è stato presidente e azionista di maggioranza della Adlaskodun plc, docente presso la Bifrost University, direttore e azionista della VBS Investment Bank e CEO della Icelandic Broadcasting Corporation.

 Sposato con Hildur hanno avuto tre figli: Johanna, Sigrid ed Ari.

 Ottimo bridgista ha imparato il gioco da ragazzo ed è stato presidente della Federazione Islandese dal 2010 al 2022 e membro del Comitato Esecutivo dell'EBL dal 2014 al 2022.

 Più volte capitano non giocatore e coach delle nazionali islandesi è scomparso nella seconda metà del 2023. 

  Jafet Olafsson was born on 29 April 1951 in Reykjavik, he graduated from the Commercial College of Iceland in 1973 and had a brilliant managerial career holding highly prestigious positions.

Among other roles he was president and majority shareholder of Adlaskodun plc, professor at Bifrost University, director and shareholder of the VBS Investment Bank and CEO of the Icelandic Broadcasting Corporation.

Married to Hildur they had three children: Johanna, Sigrid and Ari.

An excellent bridge player, he learned the game as a boy and was president of the Icelandic Federation from 2010 to 2022 and a member of the EBL Executive Committee from 2014 to 2022.

Several times non-playing captain and coach of the Icelandic national teams he passed away in the second half of 2023.
