Nato a Firenze nel 1920, ingegnere, 6 volte Campione del Mondo, 3 volte Campione Olimpico, una volta Campione Europeo, scomparso agli inizi del 2003, Camillo è stato negli anni '60 dello scorso secolo uno dei più forti giocatori del mondo.
Ha imparato il bridge nel 1942 durante la guerra quando si trovava di stanza a Creta ma dovette aspettare altri vent'anni per fare il suo esordio nel mitico Blue Team sostituendo l'indisponibile Avarelli ai Campionati del Mondo di St. Vincent del 1963.
Sul piano Nazionale ha vinto tra l'altro, Squadre Libere (1961, 1964, 1967, 1968, 1984, 1986), Coppie Libere (1961), Coppa Italia (1965, 1976, 1983).
Ha ricoperto diverse cariche federali e ha tenuto per lunghi anni una rubrica di bridge sulla rivista "l'Europeo" che è stata la più fortunata nel suo genere in Italia.
E' autore di due sistemi licitativi di grande successo: l'Arno che giocò in coppia con D'Alelio, ed il Marzocco, divenuto a tutti gli effetti una specie di standard toscano.
Al momento della sua scomparsa occupava uno dei primissimi posti nella classifica dei World Grand Master e oggi possiamo ricordarlo anche per i suoi bei libri che hanno avuto straordinario successo.

Innamorato del bridge ai livelli del Chiaradia, è stato un regolarista di quelli che non avresti mai voluto incontrare sul tuo cammino.
Prima di incrociare le carte con i migliori campioni azzurri del tempo, con D'Alelio per lunghi anni formò la coppia più educata, regolare e remunerativa che il bridge italiano possa ricordare.
Sposato con Mirella Soderi ha avuto un figlio Massimo (nella foto con sullo sfondo Camillo), che è stato un ottima bridgista che ha vinto i Campionati Italiani a Squadre nel 1984 e nel 1986 e la Coppa Italia nel 1976 e nel 1983.
Massimo, che è stato il Responsabile del Marketing de La Fondiaria e Direttore Generale della BNC, oggi vive a Roma ed è Amministratore Delegato di HDI.

At National level he won, Open Teams (1961, 1964, 1967, 1968, 1984, 1986), Open Pairs (1961), Italy Open Cup (1965, 1976, 1983).
He has held several federal positions and held for many years a bridge column in the magazine "l'Europeo" which was the most successful of its kind in Italy.
It the author of two successful bid systems: the Arno, who played in pairs with D'Alelio, and the Marzocco, which became in effect a kind of Tuscan standards.
At the time of his death, occupied one of the top places in the ranking of World Grand Master and today we also remember him for his good books that have had extraordinary success.
In loved of bridge at Chiaradia levels, he was a terrific regular player that you never want to meet in your way.
Before crossing the card with the best champions of the time, with D'Alelio for many years formed the more educated, regular and profitable pair that the Italian bridge remember.
Married to Mirella Soderi, had a son Massimo that has been a good bridge player that won the Italian Teams Championships (1984 and 1986) and the Italy Cup (1976 and 1983).
Massimo, that has been the Responsible of Marketing in Fondiaria and the General Manager of BNC, today live in Rome and is the CEO of HDI.
