Peter Pauncz è nato nel 1940 in Ungheria e quando era ancora piccolo i genitori lo impegnarono con il bridge per evitare che uscendo di casa incappasse in qualche moto antisovietico.
A 15 anni lasciò il Paese natio e visse per un breve periodo a Vienna prima di essere accolto da una zia di Firenze, dove trascorse il resto della sua vita.
Stimato agente SEAT, ha sempre continuato a giocare a bridge che è stato la sua grande passione.
Ottimo giocatore spesso sul podio nelle competizioni nazionali ha anche fatto parte della nazionale azzurra senior.
Come amministratore è stato presidente del circolo di Firenze.
Sposato con Elizabeth, ha avuto due figli Alessandra e Michele anche lui un buon giocatore che ha fatto spesso coppia con il padre.
É scomparso a Firenze il 28 aprile del 2020.

He disappeared in Florence on April 28, 2020.
