Julius "Jule" Tilles nacque a Philadelphia il 18 febbraio del 1907.
Sposato con Ella (New York 15 luglio 1917 - Pearl City - 9 luglio 1996), anche lei ottima bridgista, ebbero due figli.
Fu un giocatore abbastanza noto a cavallo della prima metà del secolo scorso che vinse tre volte il Goldman Pairs nel 1943, 1950 e 1954 e che guadagnò altri piazzamenti giocando nel Misto in coppia con la moglie (secondi nel Rockwell del 1952).
Morì a New York nell'aprile del 1976.

He married Hella (New York July 15, 1917 - Pearl City - July 9, 1996), also her a very good bridge player, we had two children.
He was a fairly well-known player at the turn of the first half of the last century, who won three times the Goldman Pairs in 1943, 1950 and 1954 and gained other placings playing in Mixed teamed with his wife (second in Rockwell, 1952).
He died in New York in April, 1976.
