William  WHITELAW

 William Stephen Ian Whitelaw, 1º Visconte di Penrith è nato il 28 giugno del 1918 a Nairn nel Nord Est della Scozia.

 Orfano di guerra, uomo politico conservatore, ha studiato alla Wixenford School, al Winchester College e si è laureato al Trinity di Cambridge.

 Partecipò alla seconda guerra mondiale ricevendo la Croce di Guerra.

 È stato Presidente del Consiglio ed è diventato il primo Segretario di Stato per l'Irlanda del Nord.

 Buon bridgista ha giocato spesso al tavolo verde di Downing Street con Margaret Thatcher di cui era ascoltato Consigliere.

 Nel 2016 conquista l'argento nei primi Giochi Europei Invernali.

 Sposato con Celia Doriel Sprot con cui ha avuto quattro figlie è scomparso per cause naturali il 1 luglio del 1999 nella sua casa di Ennim giusto fuori del villaggio di Great Blencow vicino Penrith.

  William Stephen Ian Whitelaw, 1st Viscount Whitelaw KT CH MC PC DL (28 June 1918 – 1 July 1999), often known as Willie Whitelaw, was a British Conservative Party politician who served in a wide number of Cabinet positions, most notably as Home Secretary and Deputy Prime Minister.

 War orphan, conservative politician, she studied at the School Wixenford andat Winchester College and graduated from Trinity Cambridge.

He participated in the Second World War received the Croix de Guerre.

He was Chairman of the Board and became the first Secretary of State for Northern Ireland.

Good bridge player played often at the green table in Downing Street with Margaret Thatcher of which was heard Councilor.

2016 start with the silver medal in the European Winter Games.

Married to Celia Doriel Sprot with whom he had four daughters passed away of natural causes on July 1st 1999 at his home in Ennim just outside the village of Great Blencow near Penrith.
