Questo colpo illustrato dal campione svizzero Jean Besse consiste nel rinunciare ad un taglio e scarto come unico metodo per guadagnare una presa.
L'atout è quadri ed Ovest esce con il Fante di picche in taglio e scarto:

Se il giocante taglia al morto e scarta una cuori dalla mano, poi è costretto a consegnarsi nella forcella di "AQ" di Ovest.
Se il giocante rinuncia al taglio e scarto e taglia in mano (colpo di Besse) scartando dal morto una cuori poi, intavolando il Dieci di cuori perderà solo l'Asso di cuori. Infatti:
- se Ovest inserisce l'Asso, poi sarà soggetto alla forcella di "KJ" del morto
- se Ovest inserisce la Dama, il giocante chiama il Re dal morto e prosegue con il Fante di cuori
- se Ovest sta basso, il giocante fa altrettanto e poi insiste a cuori
Volendo, il giocante per accontentare la platea può anche tagliare al morto e surtagliare in mano!

If the Declarer Cut to the dummy and discard a heart from his hand, he is forced to surrender in the hearts fork of the "AQ"by the West.
If the Declarer ruff in his hand (Besse Coup), then plays Ten of hearts and loses only the Ace of hearts. In fact:
- if the West put the Ace, then it will be subject to the fork "KJ" of the dummy
- if the West put the Queen, declarer calls the King by dummy and continued with the Jack of Hearts
- if the West play low, the declarer does the same and then insists on hearts
To please the audience is also possible ruff in the Dead and overruff in hand!
