Il morto si libera allora della quadri che è ormai stata retrocessa al ruolo di carta neutra ma Est deve capitolare: se scarta l'Asso di picche, rende franca la Dama, se scarta la Dama di cuori rende assoggettabile a sorpasso il Re di cuori di Ovest, se scarta una quadri rende vincente il Fante di quadri.

South, as the declarer, leads the Club Ace. In this position West must discard a Spade, otherwise West unguards his Heart suit and/or Diamond suit. South discards the Diamond from the dummy. However, East is squeezed in all three suits. If East discards the Spade Ace, then South can win a trick with Spade  Queen in dummy, since West has discarded the Spade King. If East discards the Hearth Queen, then South successfully finesses West for the Heart  King. If East discards a small Diamond, then the two-card Diamond holding of South become automatic winners. Whatever East discards, the declarer is assured of the last four remaining tricks.
