Dennis Leslie Amiss è nato il 7 aprile del 1943 ad Harborne nella periferia sud est di Birmingham ed è stato un personaggio di spicco del mondo del cricket decretato come Wisden Cricketers of the Year nel 1975.
Dennis ha giocato sia per il Warwickshire che per l'Inghilterra ed ha poi ricoperto cariche amministrative nella England and Wales Cricket Board.
Conobbe il bridge durante una crociera con la moglie e da allora ha regolarmente giocato un paio di volte a settimana. Si diletta anche di giardinaggio e golf.
Leslie Dennis Amiss was born April 7, 1943 at
Harborne in the southeast suburbs of Birmingham and was a
leading figure in the world of cricket decreed as Wisden Cricket
of the Year in 1975.
Dennis has played for both Warwickshire that for England and has also held administrative posts in the England and Wales Cricket Board.
He knew the bridge during a cruise with his wife and since then has regularly played a couple of times a week.
Also it delights in gardening and golf.
