Leslie Amoils č nato il 13 gennaio del 1958 a Spring una cittadina 50 km a est di Johannesburg dove ha frequentato le scuole superiori imparando il bridge e arrivando a rappresentare il suo Paese d'origine nei Campionati Mondiali del 2000.
Dottore commercialista, dopo il servizio militare si č trasferito prima a Los Angeles e poi, dopo aver incontrato la donna che ha sposato, a Toronto.
I primi tempi in Canada non sono stati facili e Les si č messo in proprio gettandosi nel ramo delle auto usate e le cose gli sono andate piuttosto bene. Per avviare l'attivitā a smesso di giocare a bridge, gioco che aveva praticato in Sud Africa assieme a quello del poker ed ha ripreso a giocare solo a metā degli anni '90.
Oggi vive a Toronto e ha rappresentato la Nazionale Canadese ai Campionati Mondiali del 2011 e del 2012.
Nel 2018 ha guadagnato l'argento nei secondi giochi europei invernali.
Leslie Amoils was born on January 13, 1958 in
Spring a little town 50 km east of Johannesburg where she attended high
school learning bridge and coming to represent her country of
origin in the 2000 World Championships.
Chartered accountant, after his military service he moved first to Los Angeles and then, after meeting the woman he married, to Toronto.
The early days in Canada were not easy and Les started his own business by throwing himself into the used car business and things went pretty well for him. To start the business he stopped playing bridge, a game he had practiced in South Africa together with that of poker and only started playing again in the mid-90s.
Today he lives in Toronto and represented the Canadian national team at the 2011 and 2012 World Championships.
In 2018 he earned silver in the second European winter games.
