Olivier Bessis è nato a Parigi nel 1982 da una famiglia di grandi bridgisti (Michel e Véronique) e si è messo in luce assieme al fratello Thomas di due anni più giovane.
Olivier, che è laureato in matematica, ha iniziato a giocare a bridge quando aveva 13 anni in coppia con il fratello che ne aveva solo 11.
In coppia con Thomas ha conquistato il bronzo agli Europei under 20 del 2000 ad Antalya e a quelli under 25 del 2006 a Riccione per poi salire sul gradino principale agli Europei Universitari del 2007 a Bruges.
In coppia con Godefroy De Tessieres, un'altra grande promessa del bridge giovanile francese, ha vinto la gara a Coppie Juniores dello speciale Triathlon del 2002 a Montreal sopravanzando il fratello che giocava in coppia con Juliene Gaviard.
Olivier Bessis was born in Paris in 1982 by a family of great bridge players
(Michel and Veronique), studied mathematics and physics and, with his brother
Thomas, two years younger, is one of the most promising French players of the
new era.
Olivier, who has a degree in mathematics, he started playing bridge when he was 13 years in tandem with his brother who was only 11.
Paired with Thomas won the bronze medal at the European Under-20 (2000) in Antalya and also Under 25 (2006) in Riccione, to go up on the step higher at the European University Championships in Bruges (2007).
Paired with Godefroy De Tessieres, another great promise of the young French Bridge, won the pairs competition of the special Junior Triathlon in Montreal (2002) overtaking his brother who played in pairs with Julien Gaviard.
