Nato nel 1907 a Firenze il marchese Silvio Carini Mazzaccara viene ricordato oltre che come buon giocatore come amministratore, essendo stato sia Presidente sia della Federazione Italiana che di quella Europea.
Direttore commerciale di una importante casa vinicola toscana, parlava correntemente inglese e francese e fece anche parte dell'Esecutivo della World Bridge Federation.
Ha contribuito alla stesura del primo Codice del Bridge ed è stato capitano non giocatore della Squadra Azzurra agli Europei del 1961.
Scomparve nel gennaio del 1990.

He helped draft the first Code of the Bridge and was non-playing captain of the National Team at the European Championship 1961.
He disappeared in January 1990.
