Tom CARMICHAEL

 Nato nel 1974 a Middletown nel New Jersey dove è cresciuto, è un Ingegnere specializzato in telecomunicazioni che vive a Kennesaw nei dintorni di Atlanta.

 Ha imparato il bridge quando aveva solo 10 anni e da  allora non lo ha più abbandonato anche se amante di tutti i giochi.

 Nazionale juniores fin dal 1992, nel 1999 ha vinto l'argento nel Mondiale Juniores a Squadre e nel 1988 è arrivato terzo nella gara Individuale del Triathlon.

 Dopo aver vinto nel 1997 in coppia con Joel Wooldridge che all'epoca aveva solo 18 anni, il loro primo campionato nazionale (IMP Pairs) stabilendo il record di coppia più giovane ad aver vinto un NABC battendo di due anni quello detenuto dai Meckwell, ha riportato alcuni interessanti piazzamenti anche in campo nazionale e si sta mettendo particolarmente in luce come insegnante e articolista.

  Tom lives in Kennesaw, GA (suburb of Atlanta) and he is grew up in New Jersey. He is a network Engineer / Trainer.

He  attended his first bridge tournament when he was 10 years old, and has been hooked ever since.  He is currently an ACBL Diamond Life Master.

He was an active member in the ACBL Junior program from 1992 until he was 'over the hill' in 1999, representing the US in international competition in about 10 different events.

Over the years, he has accumulated a number of notable achievements including:

* NABC win - 1997 IMP Pairs.  At the time of this event Tom was 23 years old, His partner (Joel Wooldridge) was 18. They are the youngest pair (combined ages) ever to win an open national title, beating out the previous record holders (Meckstroth & Rodwell) by 2 years.
* 2nd - 2005 Spingold Teams
* 2nd - 1999 World Junior Team Championships
* 3rd - 1998 World Junior Triathlon - Individual.
* Many other top 10 national finishes as well as dozens of regional wins.
