Larry T. COHEN

Larry T. Cohen è nato nel 1943 a Madison ed è un farmacista che si è laureato all'Università del Wisconsin e che oggi vive a Palm Desert in California.

  Ha vinto una decina di NABC tra i quali ricordiamo il Wernher del 1976, il GNT del 1974, le Vanderbilt del 1975 e 1976, la Reisinger del 1973 e le Spingold del 1973 e 1976.

 Nel 1977 stavano vincendo le selezioni per partecipare alla Bermuda Bowl in coppia con Richard H. Katz, ma furono accusati di farsi segnali illegali e la loro squadra fu costretta ad abbandonare la gara dopo 96 delle previste 128 smazzate. A seguito di questo episodio i due citarono la ACBL per 44 milioni dollari di danni e la vincendo si concluse con un patteggiamento nel quale Katz e Cohen accettarono di non giocare più insieme per un periodo di due anni.

  Larry T. Cohen (born 1943) is an American bridge player. Cohen is from Palm Desert, California. He is a pharmacist and a graduate of University of Wisconsin–Madison.

 Cohen and Richard H. Katz won the collegiate bridge championship, then a pairs event, representing Wisconsin.

They continued their partnership and won several major teams-of-four events together during the next decade. Playing under ACBL auspices in Houston during January 1977, they were on the verge of advancing to represent North American in the Bermuda Bowl when officials accused them of cheating. They quit the final match after 96 of 128 deals (which forced their three teammates to forfeit) and soon withdrew from the league,but subsequently sued the American Contract Bridge League for $44 million.

The case was settled out of court with Katz and Cohen agreeing not to play with each other for the next two years.

Larry won 10 NABC among which the Wherner 1976, the GNT 1974, the Vanderbilt 1975 and 1976, the Reisinger 1973 and the Spingold 1973 and 1976.
