Henrik, principe consorte di Danimarca, conte di Monpezat (Henri Marie Jean André de Laborde de Monpezat; Talence, 11 giugno 1934), è il marito dell'attuale regina di Danimarca, Margherita II.
Henrik nacque a Talence nel dipartimento della Gironda in Francia. Era figlio del conte André de Laborde de Monpezat (Mont-de-Marsan 6 maggio 1907 - Le Cayrou 23 febbraio 1998) e di sua moglie Renée Doursenot (Périgueux 26 ottobre 1908 - Le Cayrou 11 febbraio 2001) (sposati religiosamente a Cahors il 6 gennaio 1934 e civilmente a Cahors il 22 gennaio 1948), che in precedenza era stata sposata prima civilmente a Parigi il 29 settembre 1928 e divorziata al Tribunal Civil Français de Saigon il 21 settembre 1940 con Louis Leuret (Châteauneuf-sur-Loire, 18 marzo 1881 - Saigon, Vietnam del Sud, 29 dicembre 1962). Henrik è cresciuto nella religione cattolica.
Trascorse i primi cinque anni della sua vita nell'Indocina francese (l'attuale Vietnam) dove suo padre era a capo degli interessi di famiglia. Tornò ad Hanoi nel 1950, diplomandosi li nella scuola secondaria francese nel 1952. Tra il 1952 ed il 1957 studiò contemporaneamente legge e scienze politiche alla Sorbona di Parigi e cinese e vietnamita alla Scuola Nazionale di Lingue Orientali (conosciuta attualmente come INALCO). Ha studiato anche ad Hong Kong nel 1957 e a Saigon nel 1958.
Dopo il servizio militare con l'esercito francese nella
guerra d'Algeria tra il 1959 e il 1962, nel 1962 entrò al ministero degli affari
esteri francese, lavorando come segretario presso l'ambasciata di Londra dal
1963 al 1967.
Il 10 giugno 1967 sposò la principessa Margherita, l'erede presuntiva al trono
di Danimarca nella Chiesa navale di Copenaghen. In occasione delle nozze il suo
nome fu danesizzato in Henrik e creato sua altezza reale principe Henrik di
Danimarca. Prima del matrimonio si convertì al Protestantesimo.
La regina ed il principe hanno due figli maschi e cinque nipoti.
La lingua nativa del principe Henrik è il francese, anche se ha rapidamente imparato il danese dopo il suo matrimonio, ma i danesi scherzano ancora sulla sua padronanza della lingua danese e il suo forte accento francese. Inoltre parla correntemente inglese, cinese e vietnamita.
Amante del bridge è il padrino del Copenaghen Bridge Invitational nel quale ha anche giocato appaiato con il campione francese Thomas Bessis.

Denmark, (né Henri Marie Jean André de Laborde de Monpezat; born 11 June 1934),
is the husband of the Queen of Denmark, Margrethe II.
Henrik was born in Talence, Gironde,
France. He was the son of Count André de Laborde de Monpezat (Mont-de-Marsan, 6
May 1907 – Le Cayrou, 23 February 1998) and his wife, Renée Doursenot
(Périgueux, 26 October 1908 – Le Cayrou 11 February 2001), (married religiously
Cahors, 6 January 1934 and civilly Cahors 22 January 1948), who was previously
married firstly civilly in Paris on 29 September 1928 and divorced at the
Tribunal Civil Français de Saigon on 21 September 1940 Louis Leuret (Châteauneuf-sur-Loire,
18 March 1881 – Saigon, South Vietnam, 29 December 1962). He was raised Catholic.
He spent his first five years in French Indochina (now Vietnam) where his father
was in charge of family business interests. He returned to Hanoi in 1950,
graduating from the French secondary school there in 1952. Between 1952 and 1957
he simultaneously studied law and political science at the Sorbonne, Paris, and
Chinese and Vietnamese at the École Nationale des Langues Orientales (now known
as INALCO). He also studied in Hong Kong in 1957 and Saigon in 1958.
After military service with the French Army in the Algerian War between 1959 and
1962, in 1962 he joined the French Foreign Affairs ministry, working as a
Secretary at the embassy in London from 1963 to 1967.
On 10 June 1967 he married Princess Margrethe, the heiress presumptive to the
Danish throne, at the Naval Church of Copenhagen. At the time of the wedding his
name was Danicised to Henrik and he was created HRH Prince Henrik of Denmark.
Before the wedding, the Prince converted to Protestantism.
The Queen and The Prince Consort have
two children and eight grandchildren.
Prince Henrik's native language is French, and his second language is Danish.
Although he quickly learned Danish after marrying Margrethe, Danes still joke
about his grasp of Danish and his thick French accent. He also speaks fluent
English, Chinese, and Vietnamese.
Lover of the bridge is the fathers of Copenhagen Bridge Invitational in which he also played paired with French champion Thomas Bessis.
