Geoffrey FELL

 Geoffrey Fell è stato uno dei padri fondatori del bridge europeo e, più in particolare, di quello britannico.

 Nato nel 1904 espresse la sua personalità in molti campi dello sport. Ottimo golfista, buon tennista e buon sciatore, si dilettò anche nelle corse di moto e di auto.

 Come bridgista fece più volte parte della nazionale del suo Paese e diverse altre volte ne guidò altre nei campionati britannici.

 Magistrato, di famiglia benestante, si occupò dell'azienda di famiglia  e ricoprì anche cariche politiche a livello locale e nella Federazione del Tennis.

 Fu segretario volontario dell'EBU e notevole fu l'impulso che seppe dare al bridge europeo mantenendosi sempre all'avanguardia man mano che il gioco progrediva.

Scomparve prematuramente il 27 marzo del 1971.

   Geoffrey Fell was one of the founding fathers of the European bridge and, more particularly, of the British bridge.

Born in 1904 expressed his personality in many fields of sport. Great golfer, good skier and good tennis player, he also dabbled in racing motorcycles and cars.

How many times did bridge player in the national team of his country and several other times he guided others Teams in the British Championships.

Magistrate, a wealthy family, took care of the family and also held political office at local level and in the Federation of Tennis.

He was secretary voluntary EBU and remarkable was the impulse that was able to give to bridge remaining always to avant-garde as the game progressed.

Disappeared prematurely on March 27, 1971.
