Philip  FELDESMAN

 Philip Feldesman è nato il 21 giugno del 1919 a Odessa in Russia ma ha studiato in Francia prima di immigrare negli Stati Uniti dove è diventato cittadino americano nel 1944.

 Phil all'inizio si guadagnò da vivere commerciando diamanti, ma, da quando divenne partner di Ira Rubin, si dedicò completamente al bridge.

 Dopo lunghi anni di gioco in partita libera al Cavendish di New York sua città di residenza, nel 1961 decise improvvisamente di dedicarsi al bridge agonistico vincendo subito diversi titoli nazionali tra i quali ricordiamo i Wernher del 1961 e 1962, le Vanderbilt del 1965 e 1966, i Mitchell del 1962, 1963 e 1966, la Reisinger del 1969.

 Nel 1966 fu anche membro della nazionale USA che conquistò la seconda piazza nella Bermuda Bowl.

 Phil, che vinse anche i trofei Fishbein (1967), Herman (1961) e Mott-Smith (1965 e 1966), scomparve prematuramente a causa di un infarto il 1 settembre del 1986.

   Philip Feldesman was born on 21 June 1919 in Odessa in Russia but studied in France before immigrating to the United States where he became an American citizen in 1944.

 Phil initially earned a living trading diamonds, but since he became a partner of Ira Rubin, he devoted himself entirely to bridge.

After long years of playing in rubber game at Cavendish of New York his city of residence, in 1961 suddenly decided to devote himself to competitive bridge winning several national titles among which we remember the Wernher of 1961 and 1962, the Vanderbilt of 1965 and 1966 , the Mitchell of 1962, 1963 and 1966, the 1969 Reisinger.

In 1966 he was also a member of the US national team that conquered the second place in the Bermuda Bowl.

Phil, who also won the trophies Fishbein (1967), Herman (1961) and Mott-Smith (1965 and 1966), prematurely disappeared due to a heart attack on September 1, 1986.
