George Boyle Hanna è nato nel 1906 a Ballymena, una città una cinquantina di chilometri a nord di Belfast, ed è stato un importante uomo politico nordirlandese membro dell'Unione dell'Ulster e del Parlamento dell'Irlanda del Nord.
George studiò all'Accademia di Ballymena e si laureò in legge alla Queen's University di Belfast e fu Ministro dell'Interno dal 1953 al 1956 e Ministro delle Finanze per alcuni mesi nel 1956.
Bridgista di notevole talento la sua partecipazione alla Nazionale concise con il periodo migliore del bridge Nordirlandese.
Scomparve il primo marzo del 1964.

An Ulster Unionist member. Sat for Belfast, Duncairn from
the by election of 29th November 1949 until his resignation on 20th September
1956 on appointment as a County Court Judge for County Down.
Minister of Home Affairs from 26th October 1953 until 20th
April 1956. PC (NI) 1953. Minister of Finance from 20th April 1956 until 21st
September 1956. County Court Judge for County Down from 1956.
George Hanna was a player of considerable talent and
bridge in Northern Ireland was as its strongest when he was a member of the
International Team.
Died 1st March 1964.
