Garey Hayden č nato a Tucson il 9 settembre del 1944 ed ha studiato presso la Catalina Magnet High School della sua cittā (1962) e presso l'Universitā dell'Arizona (1968) dove conobbe il bridge.
Proprietario di un negozio di pesci tropicali, di un'agenzia di viaggio e di una rivendita di computer, ha sempre trovato il tempo anche per il bridge.
Sposato con Cookie Good dal 2011, Senior Grand Master ha vinto dieci titoli nazionali tra i quali ricordiamo i Mitchell del 1973 e del 1992, il Silodor del 1975 ed il Wernher del 1977.
A livello internazionale ha conquistato i suoi titoli migliori nella Categoria Senior. Nel 2005 ha vinto il bronzo agli European Transnational, poi ha vinto la Rand Cup del 2010 e le Senior Bowl del 2001, 2003, 2005 e 2013.
Insegnate di bridge per oltre 45 anni, Garey č scomparso a causa di un infarto il 5 febbraio del 2015, giusto due mesi dopo aver vinto il suo ultimo NABC (lo Swiss Teams di Providence).
Garey Hayden was born in Tucson on September 9, 1944 and
studied at the Catalina Magnet High School in his city (1962) and at the
University of Arizona (1968).
He had diverse interests, owning a tropical fish store, a travel agency and a computer store.
Married Cookie Good from 2011, Senior Grand Master has won ten national titles among which the Mitchell of 1973 and 1992, the Silodor 1975 and Wernher 1977.
Internationally won his best titles in the Senior Category. In 2005 he won the bronze medal at the European Transnational, beside, he won the Rand Cup in 2010 and Senior Bowl in 2001, 2003, 2005 and 2013.
Teach bridge for over 45 years, Garey passed away on February 5, 2015 just two months after winning his last NABC.
