Jeno Eugene Hilb è nato il 30 luglio del 1878 a Budapest ed è stato uno dei grandi interpreti dell'epopea del bridge ungherese.
Commerciante di legname, sposato con Frida ebbe due figli Ferenc ed Eugene.
Nel 1932 fece parte del primo storico incontro internazionale della nazionale magiara che nell'occasione affrontò quella tedesca.
Nel 1934 vinse a New York il Par Contest per la linea NS giocando appaiato al grande Robert Darvas.
Scomparve a Budapest il 10 febbraio del 1943.
Il figlio Ferenc Hilb (27 gennaio 1912 - 7 aprile 2007), anche lui di Budapest si è laureato in economia aziendale nell'università della capitale, viaggiatore entusiasta girò per diletto buona parte dell'Europa.
Sembra avesse un gran talento per ricordare le cifre e per tutta la vita fu un appassionato bridgista.
Nel 1951 per questione politiche emigrò in Canada con la famiglia e successivamente si trasferì in California, dove scomparve il 7 aprile del 2007.

Eugene Hilb was born on July 30, 1878 in Budapest and was
one of the great interpreters of the Hungarian bridge epic.
Timber merchant, married to Frida, he had two children Ferenc and Eugene.
In 1932 he was part of the first historic international meeting of the Hungarian national team which on the occasion faced the German one.
In 1934 he won the Par Contest for the NS line in New York playing alongside the great Robert Darvas.
He disappeared in Budapest on February 10, 1943.
His son Ferenc Hilb (January 27, 1912 - April 7, 2007), also from Budapest, graduated in business administration from the capital's university, an enthusiastic traveler toured much of Europe for pleasure.
He appears to have a great talent for remembering numbers and throughout his life he was an good bridge lover.
In 1951 for political reasons he emigrated to Canada with his family and later moved to California, where he disappeared on April 7, 2007.
