Patrick Huang che è nato a Shangai nel 1943 ma vive a Taiwan, è stato il Vice Presidente di una azienda manifatturiera che tratta materie plastiche ed, ancora oggi che è in pensione, è uno dei migliori giocatori del suo Paese.

Patrick ha imparato il bridge a soli 8 anni dai suoi familiari ed è parte di una famiglia di bridgisti di alto livello, con il fratello Frank ha conquistato un secondo posto nella Bermuda Bowl di Rio del 1969, facendo grande scalpore perché era la prima volta che una squadra del suo Paese si affacciava alla ribalta internazionale.

Sua moglie Grace che ha cominciato a giocare dopo il matrimonio, ha fatto parte della nazionale femminile di Taiwan, suo figlio Jerry ha giocato nella rappresentativa giovanile della zona 6 della WBF ed è un World Master.
Patrick ha collezionato un gran numero di vittorie nei campionati internazionali organizzati dalla Pacific Area Bridge Federation ed è stato due volte semifinalista alle Olimpiadi a squadre.
Patrick che nel lontano 1960 collaborò con Charles Wei alla stesura del Precision e che ebbe grande parte nella sua diffusione in Taiwan, ha oggi quasi abbandonato il bridge agonistico ed è divenuto il coach della nazionale giovanile cinese.
