George M. Humphrey was born on March 8, 1890 in Cheboygan Michigan and graduated from the University of Michigan.
In 1915 he married Pamela Stark who bore him three children.
After working as a freelancer in his city, he accepted a position in a Steel Industry of which he became President and in his professional life he was also banker.
Republican, he was Secretary of the Treasury under President Eisenhower with whom he often sat at the table of Bridge in the White House.
He died on January 20, 1970 in Cleveland.
