Eric Laurant è nato nel 1960 a Overasselt, un paesino nel sud est dell'Olanda, dove vive con la moglie Nancy e con due figlie.
Eric ha fondato una propria società di software che ha gestito fin quando non si è ritirato per dedicare tutto il suo tempo al Bridge e al Golf.
Giocatore di livello nazionale è stato capitano non giocatore della nazionale Olandese Open che ha vinto la medaglia di bronzo nella Bermuda Bowl del 2007 e la medaglia d'oro ai Campionati Transnazionali Europei del 2009.
Ha guidato da capitano non giocatore l'Olanda alla conquista della piazza d'onore nella Champion Cup 2011 e nel Campionato Europeo a Squadre Open nel 2012.
Nel 2022 è stato eletto alla Presidenza della EBL.
Eric Laurant used to own a software company but has now retired which
gives him plenty of time to spend in bridge.
Since few years he is npc and manager of the open team and since one year also the national head coach.
He lives in Overasselt, a very small village in the southeast, is married to Nancy and they have two daughters.
If he has any time left you will find him on the golf course.
Player at national level, he was the non-playing captain of the Dutch Team which won the bronze medal in the 2007 Bermuda Bowl and the gold medal at the Europeans Transnational Teams Championships of 2009 .
He was non-playing captain of the Dutch Team that has earned the place of honour at 2011 Champion's Cup and 2012 European Open Teams.
In 2022 he was elected to the presidency of the EBL.
