Philippe Mathieu è nato a Parigi dove si è maturato presso il Liceo Buffon ma non ha conosciuto il bridge prima dei 27 anni.
Era un giocatore di scacchi che incuriosito dal fatto che al suo circolo si giocava anche a bridge si è avvicinato al gioco nel 1990.
Trasferitosi alla Guadalupa ha iniziato a frequentare il club locale giocando con i migliori giocatori locali e arrivando a rappresentare stabilmente la nazionale di quel Paese.
Oggi è l'anima portante del circolo, animatore, organizzatore, insegnante e giocatore di spicco.
Scapolo, World International Master, è stato anche capitano non giocatore della nazionale di Guadalupa.
Philippe Mathieu was born in Paris
where he graduated at Buffy High School but did not know the bridge before the
age of 27.
He was a chess player who was intrigued by the fact that in his circle he was
playing at the bridge he approached the game in 1990.
Moving to Guadeloupe began to attend the local club by playing with the best
local players and getting to represent the national team of that country.
