Maaijke Mevius, olandese nata nel 1972, madre di due figli, vive a Groningen, nei Paesi Bassi ed è un fisico specializzato in astronomia nonché un'appassionata giocatrice di bridge.

 Attualmente è una ricercatrice che lavora all'interpretazione dei dati rilevati dal radiotelescopio LOFAR.
