Jean Paul Meyer nacque a Parigi il 13 dicembre del 1936 e fu un affermato giornalista e uno dei migliori bridgisti francesi del secolo scorso.

 Laureato in ingegneria, sposato con Michelle ha avuto una figlia Karine Meyer-Naudan che oggi dirige la rivista di cui Jean Paul è stato capo redattore da quando, nel 1978,  la testata inglobò la rivista della federazione francese, la prestigiosa "Le Bridgeur". Oggi la rivista è proprietà della HM Edition e nel 2020 è diventata anche anglofona cambiano la testata in "BeBridge".

 Il Bridge era una "malattia di famiglia" e Jean Paul ha fatto il suo esordio a 17 anni con un collega di liceo che fu il suo partner per lunghi anni, Vertans.

 World Master, parlava francese, inglese, capiva il tedesco ed è stato un giornalista privo di fronzoli e di sponsor che, dopo averne criticato aspramente la conduzione, ha ricoperto diversi incarichi amministrativi nella sua Federazione e poi anche nella EBL di cui è stato a lungo coordinatore delle pubblicazioni.

 Diverse volte campione di Francia, ha colto anche diversi allori internazionali tra i quali ricordiamo l'oro nel 1987 e l'argento nel  1993 nei Campionati Europei a Coppie e le due vittorie nei Biarritz a Coppie del 1987 e 1994.

 Ha anche conquistato nel 1995 come capitano non giocatore il bronzo nella Bermuda Bowl  e l'argento nel Campionato Europeo a Squadre.

Anche Vice Presidente Onorario della FFB è scomparso il 9 luglio del 2018.

Jean Paul Meyer was born in Paris on December 13, 1936 and was a well-known journalist and one of the best French bridge players of the last century.

A graduate in engineering, married to Michelle, she had a daughter Karine Meyer-Naudan, who now runs the magazine for which Jean Paul was the chief editor since, in 1978, the magazine incorporated the magazine of the French federation, the prestigious "Le Bridgeur". Today the magazine is owned by HM Edition and in 2020 she also became Anglophone change the headline in "BeBridge".

The Bridge was a "family disease" and Jean Paul made his debut at age 17 with a high school colleague who was his partner for many years, Vertans.

World Master, spoke French, English, understood German and was a journalist without frills and sponsors who, after having severely criticized the conduct, has held various administrative positions in his Federation and then also in the EBL of which he has long been coordinator of publications.

Several times champion of France, has also caught several international laurels among which we remember the gold in 1987 and the silver in 1993 in the European Championships in Couples and the two victories in the Biarritz in Couples of 1987 and 1994.

He also won the bronze in the Bermuda Bowl and the silver in the European Team Championship in 1995 as non-player captain.

Honorary Vice-President of the FFB, passed away on 9 July 2018.
