Anita Evelyn Pomares nacque a Flushing il 4 agosto del 1910 e morì a Van Nuys presso Los Angeles il 6 settembre del 2008.
Di origine spagnola, entrò del mondo del cinema muto giovanissima per uscirne molto presto quando nel 1933, onorato il contratto che la legava alla MGM, si ritirò in buon ordine nonostante lo straordinario successo che i suoi film avevano fatto registrare.
Tornò al mondo dello spettacolo solo sessanta anni più tardi!
Ricevette delle proposte di matrimonio epistolari da Benito Mussolini, e si sposò due volte: la prima con il compositore e cantautore Nacio Herb Brown, e la seconda con Herschel A. House, un pilota della marina, a cui diede due figlie: Linda e Sandra.
Nella sua breve carriera, meritò una stella sulla Hollywood Walk of Fame e sembra che nel corso della sua vita si sia interessata sia al whist che al bridge.
Anita Evelyn Pomares was born in Flushing on August 4, 1910 and died in Van Nuys near Los Angeles on September 6, 2008.
Of Spanish origin, she entered the world of silent film at a very young age to get out of it very early when in 1933, honored by the contract that tied her to MGM, she retired in good order despite the extraordinary success that her films had recorded.
She returned to the world of entertainment only sixty years later!
She received epistolary marriage proposals from Benito Mussolini, and married twice: the first with the composer and songwriter Nacio Herb Brown, and the second with Herschel A. House, a naval pilot, to whom he gave two daughters: Linda and Sandra.
