Rokia Poizat è nata ad Orano in Algeria il 20 aprile del 1953 ha studiato matematica ed è stata un'insegnante di bridge professionista che ha vissuto ed esercitato a Montpellier nel circolo BC Comédie.
Sposata con il giocatore Didier Barthés, divorziò per non voler imparare il bridge.
All'età di 23 anni si trasferì in Francia lasciando la sua famiglia in Algeria, ed il bridge si prese la rivincita cominciando ad entrare pian piano nella sua vita, prima per merito della sua amica Marie Roque e, poi del forte giocatore Jean-Claude Ostry che è stato suo mentore e partner per oltre 20 anni.
Risposatasi con un altro noto giocatore francese, Philippe Poizat, oltre al bridge, ha amato la lettura ed il cinema.
Oltre che una rinomata insegnante di bridge è stata un'eccellente giocatrice che ha spesso primeggiato nei campionati francesi spesso esibendosi in coppia con il marito.
Rokia ci ha lasciato nell'estate del 2021.

Rokia Poizat was born in Oran in Algeria on April

professional bridge teacher who lived and practiced
in Montpellier in the BC Comédie club.
She married to player Didier Barthés, she divorced for not wanting to learn bridge.
At the age of 23 he moved to France leaving his family in Algeria, and bridge took its revenge by starting to slowly enter his life, first thanks to his friend Marie Roque and then to the strong player Jean-Claude Ostry who has been his mentor and partner for over 20 years.
She remarried with another well-known French player, Philippe Poizat, besides bridge, she loved reading and cinema.
In addition to being a renowned bridge teacher, she was an excellent player who often excelled in the French championships, often performing in pairs with her husband.
Rokia left us in the summer of 2021.
