Andor Por was born in Mezökáazony on February 16, 1909 and was one of the formidable Hungarian champions of the 30s of the last century.

 At a very young age he was world champion in pairs in 1937 and European team champion in 1938.

 His promising career was cut short by the Second World War in which he lost his life.
