Edward Rayne was born in upstate New York on August 19, 1922 by a pair Anglo American, mother Meta Reddish met Father Joseph Rayneche who was studying to be an opera singer in Italy. Joseph was the heir of a family of English costume who had founded a shoe factory that under the leadership of Edward became a cult of his era.
Edward was educated at Harrow School but he had to leave at age 16 because suffering from cataracts in both eyes.
A surgery saved his sight but he was forced to part of the thick lenses for the rest of his life.
At his father's death in 1952, he became President of the family business that had become a company that was an integral part of the dress code and the British who sold a large part of the world.
In 1975 he sold the company but rest in the branch as renowned consultant so as to receive a knighthood in 1988 for services to the British fashion industry.
Equipped with an incredible talent for all card games, Eddie was unbeatable poker player and in his youth became part of the Bridge British National when he was only 21 years, winning the European Teams Championships when he was 26! and repeating the following year !!
His end was tragic, died February 7, 1992 in on fire that devoured his house in Bexhill-on-Sea (East Sussex) and, though wounded, his wife Morna survived him. They had been two children.
