Denis ROBSON

 Denis Robson è nato nel Sunderland nel 1934 ed è stato un contabile che divenne socio dello studio dove prestava la sua collaborazione e che fu anche Presidente della Thwaites Brewery.

 Giocatore di spicco della Lancashire area, apprese il bridge da ragazzo ed arrivò a far parte della nazionale britannica nel 1976.

 Vincitori di diversi titoli regionali, arrivò in finale di Gold Cup e vinse il Tollemache.

 Sul piani amministrativo occupò diverse cariche prestigiose e fu prima Vicepresidente e popi Presidente della EBU dal 2002 al 2006.

 Sposato con Val ebbero cinque figli e quando la moglie lo lasciò nel 2021, rimasto vedovo si ritirò in una casa di cura in Sunderland dove scomparve il 10 marzo del 2024.

Denis Robson was born in Sunderland in 1934 and was an accountant who became a partner in the firm where he worked and who was also President of Thwaites Brewery.
A leading player in the Lancashire area, he learned bridge as a boy and joined the British national team in 1976.

Winners of several regional titles, he reached the Gold Cup final and won the Tollemache.

On the administrative level he held various prestigious positions and was first Vice President and then President of the EBU from 2002 to 2006.

Married to Val, they had five children and when his wife left him in 2021, he became a widower and retired to a nursing home in Sunderland where he disappeared on 10 March 2024..
