Jakob Rųn was born March 26, 1973 in Horsens, a town on the homonymous fjord 50 'km south of Aarhus, but now lives in the Danish capital.
Bachelor, he studied at the gymnasium of his native city and then at the University of Aarhus and has a brother Henrik, also bridge player.
Professional of the bridge, was highlighted by winning the silver at the European Junior Teams Championships of 1994 followed by the bronze in 1996 and gold in the World Juniors Teams Championships in 1997 after winning the bronze medal in those of 1995.
Jakob has also led some successful Danish Nationals, bringing the bronze with the Women in the Venice Cup 2000 and twice a silver with the juniors at European Teams 2002 and the World Teams of 2003.
