Øjvind Saur was born on 17 August 1973 in Stjørdal, a town not far from Trondheim, overlooking the fjord.
He studied at the Ole Vig School, graduated from the University of Bergen and worked at a dental studio in Raufoss not far from Gjøvik, a town overlooking Lake Mjosa, where she currently lives.
At the youth level he won gold in the Juniors category at the 1996 European Championships, repeating with the silver of the following year in the World Championships.
After making the women's national coach, he gained his most prestigious success with silver in the 2017 Champions League.
